Richard R. Mickley, O.S.Ae., Ph.D. (doctorate in clinical psychology), Abbot of the Order of St. Aelred in Manila, the Philippines, associate bishop of the Catholic Diocese of One Spirit, and bishop of the Catholic Diocese of One Spirit in the Philippines. He is a Korean War veteran. Originally ordained a Catholic priest in the United States, Richard went to New Zealand and then to the Philippines for missionary work, settling in the Philippines permanently. He was ordained a bishop in 2004 by Bishop Jim Burch.

Through the St. Aelred Monastery, the Gay Men’s Support Groups, the Same-sex Couple’s Growth Groups, the Prayer Groups, the Seminary, the Counseling Hotline, and other works, the Order of St. Aelred (O.S.Ae.) strives to build a better world for its participants in a part of the world still emerging from ancient prejudices against homosexuality. Those who have reached the bottom, the pits of rejection or loneliness, can turn to the Order to experience the unconditional love of God.
