Yes! I want to be a part of the Catholic Diocese of One Spirit By checking below, I (you) affirm: I choose to live and to articulate a spiritual perspective that generally corresponds to the perspective articulated by the Catholic Diocese of One Spirit on the web page, www.OneSpiritCatholic.org. Life, and that more abundantly! I choose to become an ever-more-loving person, with greater recognition that Jesus’ teaching of God-Within WORKS, that it gives life, and it brings joy. I choose to be of gentle service to others: in disposition, in making mindful choices of kindness, and in engaging in loving actions. I choose to be a member of the Catholic Diocese of One Spirit as an encouragement to my own dedicated life, acknowledging that I am with kindred spirits, and announcing that I stand for these bold and practical spiritual principles. And that further, this is what I know does not matter; I can have a spiritual heritage and/or membership or fellowship in another church or another religion. Believing in the message of Jesus as conveyed in the Catholic Diocese of One Spirit does not have to negate familial bonds or intellectual convictions with another spiritual organization. There were no Christian dogmas, doctrines or laws until the 4th Century, so clearly locked-in-place definitions are not essential. The fundamental teaching of Jesus (God’s presence within all that is) and the striving for a more loving life through this spiritual perspective are the only essentials. (The Catholic Diocese of One Spirit has priests who are also ministers in good standing in the Episcopal and United Methodist Churches at this time, and university chaplains representing other denominations. We try not to let the little things get in the way of the big things.) It does not matter at all if I am married or single, straight or gay, married once or divorced, old or young, female or male, highly educated or just able to present myself well to my peer group. There are different gifts spread out among all, and many varied and different opportunities to spiritually serve others. Belonging to the Catholic Diocese of One Spirit does not take away my conscience as my guide, and does not substitute another’s decision making for my own. I am joining, rather, a free association of like-minded, spiritual journeyers. I am free and I am encouraged. I will stay a member so long as the Catholic Diocese of One Spirit continues to reflect who I am and what I believe.
